Joyful and Dedicated

Don’t let the blond hair and pretty face fool you – Amy Moynihan was not your average girl who grew up in Dallas. In fact, from an early age, she had dreams of seeing the world, traveling as a journalist for National Geographic. But when she kicked off her post-college career as a working journalist, well, she soon discovered that the profession was not always ideal for paying the rent.

Since taking on her role at GroundFloor Media in 2003, she’s been the one always willing to do anything for our clients – from dressing “Silver Bullet Girls” in furry boots and painting them blue to wrangling cats for live shots to pulling a reporter out of a pirate ship to conducting media training and social media digital snapshots. The latter made her reminisce about the PR industry’s evolution saying, “We’ve come a long way from pasting up newsletters and using that percentage wheel to crop photos. I actually used an electric typewriter in college! Man, I’m old!”

This doting wife and working mother of two toddlers has had to temporarily postpone the daily hikes with her pooches, but in her downtime she still looks forward to enjoying a nice, relaxing chai latte, reading historical fiction, going to movies and the theatre, and singing Andrew Lloyd Weber tunes at the top of her lungs on her commute to Denver from her home in the ‘burbs.

Even though the National Geographic gig didn’t work out the way she’d envisioned, it didn’t squash her love of travel.
