Qdoba: Streamlining Communications from the Inside Out.

Denver-based Qdoba Mexican Grill has partnered with GroundFloor Media on public relations initiatives since 2006. Currently there are more than 500 Qdoba restaurants across the country, and the system continues to grow. With its emphasis on continued expansion, Qdoba saw an opportunity to leverage the expertise of GFM’s senior public relations consultants to streamline communication from the corporate office to franchise and corporate employees in the field.

So in late 2008, Qdoba requested additional internal communications support from GFM Inside, the internal communications practice at GFM. Initially engaged to launch and manage Qdoba’s newly developed national charity program to the Qdoba system, the GFM inside team quickly expanded its role by working closely with both franchise and corporate team members to build brand awareness with customers through a variety of external public relations programs.

In addition to bridging the gap between corporate office, franchise and corporate field employees, the GFM Inside team regularly identified new internal and external public relations opportunities by simply participating in “water cooler” chat on a daily basis. The relationships built during the time spent in-house continue today and have greatly enhanced the team’s ability to support this growing brand.
