GroundFloor Media Adds New Seasoned Pro to Public Relations Team
DENVER, Aug. 15, 2016 – GroundFloor Media (GFM), a Denver-based marketing communications agency, has expanded its team with the addition of Karla Herrera, director of strategic communications. In this role, Karla creates and implements communications programs for clients across a wide range of industries, leveraging her creativity, expertise and keen organizational skills to help clients reach their target audiences across a variety of media and platforms.
Karla brings nearly a decade of public relations experience with a blended focus on consumer and corporate communications to the agency. Previously, she spent her career in the corporate affairs practice at Edelman DC and Edelman NY. Most recently, she served as a senior account supervisor, leading day-to-day media relations, reputation management, executive positioning and issues management support for clients targeting B2B, consumer, employee, government and/or influencer audiences. Her efforts on behalf of her clients have led to coverage in such notable outlets as Fortune, Forbes, The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, Mashable and Reuters.

Born in the Dominican Republic, Karla is fluent in Spanish. She grew up outside of Washington, D.C., and earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Georgetown University, where she also played on the varsity women’s lacrosse team.
