Colorado Companies Recognized in Top Ten OUTSIDE’S Best Places to Work 2017

DENVER (Nov. 8, 2017)GroundFloor Media (GFM), an award-winning communications firm focused on public relations and crisis & issues management, has been named in the top five of OUTSIDE’s Best Places to Work of 2017 for the fifth consecutive year.

Each year, OUTSIDE recognizes the top 100 companies in the United States that help their employees strike the ideal balance between work and play. These companies encourage employees to lead an active lifestyle, are eco-conscious and prioritize giving back to the community. Created in conjunction with the Outdoor Industry Association and Best Companies Group, the list of winners appears online.

Culture is of vital importance at GroundFloor Media, as it is at Room 214, another creative agency on the list with whom we have collaborated with in the past.

GFM was recognized for a wide variety of non-traditional benefits that cultivate a “work-life blend.” Highlights include flexible office hours and telecommuting options; a “Trusted Time Off” policy with no set number of vacation or personal days in a year; annual Outward Bound Professional team-building days and a weekly Beer Club that everyone, including clients and agency partners/friends, are invited to.

“Our team members are our greatest resource,” said Ramonna Robinson, president of GroundFloor Media. “We pride ourselves on offering benefits and perks that empower our team members to be the best they can at home and at work. We are proud to be listed in the top five of OUTSIDE’s Best Places to Work for the fifth consecutive year and will, no doubt, continue to encourage a healthy ‘work-life blend’ among our employees.”

Some of the attributes OUTSIDE highlighted from Room 214 include the creative culture and an emphasis on work-life balance. Room 214 offers unlimited paid days off, a dog-friendly office and an in-office culture of giving back to the community, including pro-bono work, volunteer events and fundraising for nonprofits.

“We are delighted to be included in such fine company,” said Room 214 co-founder Jason Cormier. “We've learned a great place to work is one where choice, community and contribution are all part of the culture. We've also learned culture thrives when values are in play. We're not talking about values relegated to clever quips on a poster in a break room, but real beliefs we can articulate and practice together. The outcome is people who are inspired to create valuable relationships, give back, do their best and act out of love instead of fear."

“Companies from across the country entered a rigorous two-part survey process to make the winning list,” said Jonah Ogles, Articles Editor at OUTSIDE Magazine. “The Best Companies Group evaluates each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. There’s also an employee survey to measure personal experience.”

The winning companies are those that value productivity in combination with an active, eco-conscious lifestyle, for a fulfilling experience inside and outside the office. This is OUTSIDE’s 10th year providing the Best Places to Work.
