Former Senior Communications Officer for the United Nations Joins Denver-based Agency
DENVER, CO – (July 23, 2007) – GroundFloor Media, Inc., a Denver-based public relations firm, is proud to announce the addition of Katherine Davis to the agency's team of senior-level PR professionals. With more than 13 years of experience as both a journalist and a communications professional, Davis will provide valuable insight to GroundFloor Media clients in a variety of industries.
Prior to joining GroundFloor Media, Davis spent nearly five years working in Rome for the United Nations agencies responsible for leading international efforts to eradicate poverty and hunger in developing countries. As the editorial manager and senior communication officer at the International Fund for Agricultural Development, Davis had her hand in media relations, publishing, donor relations, branding and special events, and worked closely with her staff to meet the communication needs of their many clients, including technicians, national governments and poor rural farmers.
Davis came to the United Nations through her work as a reporter for one of the country's top women's magazines, SELF, where she reported on a variety of timely and significant health-related topics. Prior to SELF, Davis appeared as a regular on-air contributor to ABC's Sunday "Good Morning America," interviewed musicians and politicians alike as a staff reporter for MTV News, and worked as a freelance writer for such national publications as Newsweek and Bride's. Davis's reporting resulted in two New York Newswomen's Club Front Page Awards and a nomination for an American Society of Magazine Editors National Magazine Award.

Davis earned a master's degree in communication management from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and a bachelor's degree in political science from Columbia University in New York City.
