GroundFloor Media Wins Coveted Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation, Earning National Recognition from Leading Public Relations Professional Organization

DENVER, CO – (July 10, 2008) – GroundFloor Media, a Denver-based public relations agency, received a 2008 Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for the work it executed on behalf of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Winners of the award were recognized during the 2008 Silver Anvil Awards Evening held June 5 at the Equitable Tower in New York.

GroundFloor Media received a 2008 Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation in the government media relations category for its “What If? Colorado: Be Ready, Be Healthy, Be Informed” campaign. In September 2007, GroundFloor Media worked with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to adopt an integrated public relations campaign to educate Coloradans about pandemic influenza and the need for emergency preparedness. What If? Colorado took a fresh approach to public awareness by utilizing a reality competition, online social marketing techniques, local business partnerships, Hispanic outreach and more.

“The Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation annually celebrates the growing scope, creativity and strategic importance of public relations tactics and represents an extremely high level of tactical achievement in the public relations industry,” said Arthur Yann, 2008 Bronze Anvil Award committee chair. “The outstanding work done by GroundFloor Media is a proud accomplishment that truly deserves this national recognition from its industry peers.”

The Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation was created by PRSA in 1969 to recognize outstanding public relations tactics - the individual items or components that contribute to the success of an overall program or campaign. Awards of Commendation are possible in 63 categories and subcategories, including media relations, newsletters, Web sites, feature stories, press/media kits, podcasts, word-of-mouth and blogs.
