GroundFloor Media Honored with Leadership Roles in Front Range Community
Team members participate in the Downtown Denver Leadership Program, Leadership Arts and Downtown Boulder board of directors
DENVER, CO – (January 21, 2009) – GroundFloor Media Inc., a Denver-based public relations firm, is proud to announce that three of its team members, Amanda Brannum, Carissa McCabe and Amy Moynihan, have been selected to participate in esteemed Front Range community leadership roles.
Amanda Brannum was recently selected to participate in the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts’ 2008-09 Leadership Arts class, the only nonprofit arts and cultural board training program offered in Colorado. Leadership Arts trains professionals from the business community in the roles and responsibilities of serving on boards of directors of nonprofit arts and cultural organizations. Now in its 13th year, the program boasts more than 400 graduates, many of whom currently serve on boards and committees throughout the metro area.
As a member of the Downtown Denver Partnership’s 2008 Leadership Program, Carissa McCabe was engaged in a ten-month immersion into urban issues, policies and practices focused on the past, present and future of the city’s urban core. The goals of the program were to demonstrate the importance of Downtown Denver as it relates to the metro area, inspire participants with the opportunities and challenges that exist in a downtown environment and engage them in creating the Downtown Denver of the future. The culmination of the program took place Nov. 20 when McCabe participated on the presentation committee that presented the class’s recommendations for “Putting Our Best Foot Forward”, a plan specifically designed to improve Downtown Denver’s pedestrian environment.
Amy Moynihan was recently named to the board of directors of Downtown Boulder Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to continued preservation and enhancement of Downtown Boulder as the heart of the greater Boulder community. The organization works to maintain the city’s downtown as its center of commerce, government, culture and leisure through public advocacy, political involvement and community events that enhance the Boulder experience for residents and visitors alike.
“At GroundFloor Media we believe very strongly in the importance of playing active roles in the communities in which we live and work,” said Laura Love, president and founder of GroundFloor Media. “Leadership Arts, the Downtown Denver Leadership Program and Downtown Boulder Inc. all share a common goal of promoting economic development in the Denver-Boulder area. By taking active roles in these groups, we are able to help ensure the continued economic vitality of the Front Range.”
