GroundFloor Media Selected by Colorado Nonprofit to Execute Media Relations Programs

GroundFloor Media to lead public relations programs for the 2009 Colorado Fall Home Show

DENVER, September 11, 2009 - GroundFloor Media Inc (www.groundfloormedia.com), a Denver-based hybrid communications agency, has been hired by the Colorado Fall Home Show to implement proactive media relations and social media campaigns. The goal is to raise awareness about the organization and its mission as well as to encourage people to visit this year’s show.

The Colorado Fall Home Show (gardeningcolorado.com/fall), sponsored by Colorado Garden Show Inc., takes place Sept. 19 – 20 at the Colorado Convention Center and will feature more than 300 exhibiting companies with a focus on home renovation, remodeling and sustainable living. The Show will feature nine green zone products that can be used throughout your home, on your roof, and all most anywhere including countertop resurfacing, geothermal heating/cooling unit, heated glass windows, door conversions, Marmoleum and more.

Competitions throughout the show include a bridal bouquet contest, Iron Fist Design contest and six “tablescapes” – table displays for every occasion. Special seminars include finding a contractor, remodeling now and for the future, energy saving tips and using green products in homes, accessory dwelling units (Carriage Houses/Granny Flats), and room-by-room house tips.

Similar to other shows executed by Colorado Garden Show, a percentage of the proceeds generated at the Fall Home Show will further extend grants and scholarships for Colorado’s horticulture industry. For 2008-2009, Colorado Garden Show has awarded a record-breaking amount of more than $500,000 in horticulture grant projects and scholarships including grants to more than 40 organizations and seven substantial scholarships including a four-year, full-ride scholarship. GroundFloor Media will execute a local and regional media outreach program as well a social media strategy, utilizing the power of such popular mediums as Facebook and Twitter to drive attendance to the show.

“It is great to have the opportunity to partner with this important nonprofit organization,” said Laura Love, president and founder of GroundFloor Media. “Our team members excel at telling our clients’ stories, and the Colorado Fall Home Show has a compelling story to share with the community. For instance, many people don’t realize that this nonprofit recently awarded grant money to Denver Botanic Gardens to assist in the landscaping of its new parking garage.”
