GroundFloor Media Celebrates a Decade of Providing Communications Strategy and Support to Local and National Clients
Denver-based PR agency kicks off $10,000 Get Giving charitable program in recognition of anniversary
DENVER, Aug. 29, 2011 – GroundFloor Media Communications (GFM), a Denver-based public relations agency, kicks off its 10th year of providing communications strategy and support to a variety of local and national partners. The award-winning firm credits its success to maintaining a grounded connection with the community as well as its unique business model of employing only seasoned industry pros.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate this major milestone and are grateful for the ongoing support and confidence of our clients,” said agency president and founder, Laura Love. “Ten years ago, I set out to create an agency that was unique for the industry. I took a risk in how I structured our company, hiring only professionals with a deep history in the industry that worked as peers in a flexible work environment. I never waivered from that original plan and it allowed us to quickly grow from a one-person shop to one of the largest PR firms in Colorado.”
In the face of the recent economic downturn, GFM experienced success, as the firm has achieved positive year-over-year revenue growth since the company’s inception. GFM’s attrition rate hovers around six percent annually, which translates into a better client experience and a better working environment for team members. In fact, GFM was recognized by the Denver Business Journal for the past five years as one of the top 10 small companies on the Best Places to Work list.
To commemorate a decade of success, GFM will expand its award-winning, nationally recognized Get Giving community donation program to award a total of $10,000 – $1,000 for each year of service – to four local charities. Selected by employees, the following charities will each receive $2,500 through various forms of support, along with additional volunteer help: Dress for Success, Colfax Community Network, Underwearness and Morris Animal Foundation.
GFM has always donated the equivalent of nearly 15 percent of annual revenues back to the community – consisting of cash contributions, pro-bono public relations, reduced billing rates for nonprofit clients and staff time committed to community organizations. In 2011, our pro-bono partners are SafeHouse Denver and Jeremy Bloom’s Wish of a Lifetime Foundation.
Launched in 2010, the GFM Get Giving program supports local charities through donations made by employees, clients, partners, friends and families. Every other month, team members identify a charity beneficiary for which the agency collects new and used items, such as office supplies, cleaning products and art supplies, as requested by the organization. To date, GFM has supported Platte Forum, SafeHouse Denver, Florence Crittenton Services, Colorado Youth at Risk, Warren Village, Gilpin Montessori Public School, Teen with a Dream, Attention Homes, Colorado Youth Program and the Denver Dumb Friends League through the Get Giving program.
