GroundFloor Media Expands Nonprofit Practice with the Addition of Two New Clients
Denver-based PR Agency partners with Youth Opportunity Foundation and Colorado Youth At Risk to Promote Initiatives Supporting Colorado’s Children
DENVER, Sept. 1, 2011 – GroundFloor Media Communications (GFM), a Denver-based public relations agency, recently expanded its nonprofit practice to include new partnerships with Youth Opportunity Foundation and Colorado Youth At Risk. Both organizations aim to better the lives of Colorado’s at-risk youth through a variety of educational, mentorship and life experience programs.
“Community support and involvement is a cornerstone of our business and we couldn’t be more excited to help these two organizations, as they each play important roles in supporting Colorado’s most important resource – our youth,” said Laura Love, president and founder of GroundFloor Media. “We believe in their missions and in fact, over the years, several of our team members have been personally involved with these groups. We look forward to helping them increase awareness of their efforts and supporting their goals of helping Colorado’s kids.”
Youth Opportunity Foundation (YOF) is a Denver-based nonprofit that exists to raise funds for local organizations providing educational and life enhancement opportunities for Denver's at-risk youth. Through a network of volunteers, corporate sponsors, strategic partners and beneficiaries, they develop and coordinate unique fundraising events and distribute 100 percent of event proceeds to beneficiaries.
One of YOF's annual fundraising activities includes Mustache 4 Cash/Color 4 Kidz. Every October, Denver is overrun with professional men growing mustaches and professional women with colored streaks in their hair. This is not a pre-Halloween phenomenon, but rather one of the organizations’ most successful fundraising initiatives. In addition to creating a messaging and positioning platform for the organization, GFM will also develop a social media engagement strategy surrounding the Mustache 4 Cash/Color 4 Kidz program to build awareness and support for the campaign.
Colorado Youth at Risk (CYAR) empowers teenage students to make life choices that positively impact their future through community-based mentoring and intensive training. CYAR aims to reduce the number of high school dropouts, match students with an adult mentor, and provide students with a sense of the future and their place in that future. CYAR retained GFM to develop an organization-wide messaging platform to be used for all external-facing audiences. CYAR is a benefactor of Youth Opportunity Foundation.
