DENVER, July 26, 2012 GroundFloor Media (GFM), a Denver-based, integrated agency focusing on strategic communications, digital & social media strategy and crisis communication & reputation management, today announced the recent hires of Lauren Cook and Jon Woods as senior directors of social media and digital strategy. As part of GFM's Digital and Social Media Strategy team, Cook and Woods work with clients to develop and implement blogger and social media influencer outreach; online reputation management and crisis response plans; social media metrics, ROI tracking and analytics; corporate social media policies and data visualization elements.

Cook joins GFM with a career based solely in social media and digital strategy and more than 12 years of specializing in online brand management and crisis response, trend spotting, content curation and data visualization. During this time, she helped oversee social media campaigns for clients in a variety of industries, including NBC Universal, American Express, Samsung, Intel, Microsoft, Twitter, the American Red Cross, Vail Resorts, the Michael J. Fox Foundation and Lockheed Martin.
Cook comes to GFM from the Washington, D.C.-based interactive agency JESS3, where she led all client-facing efforts as the vice president of client services, overseeing strategy and new business development, as well as personally managing the agency's relationship with American Express. Before working with JESS3, Cook was founder and CEO of Swarm Collective, an integrated digital agency that was among the first to utilize a content-curation platform to populate a data visualization "Twitter Tracker" for NBC's coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
Cook is an enthusiastic social media user, closely following industry trends and technologies. She was awarded “Top Tweeter” in Colorado by 5280 Magazine and Westword and was named one of the “10 People You Should Meet in Social Media” at the SXSW Interactive Conference by John Kim, the former Yahoo! executive and creator of Pelago. In addition to her work in social and digital media, Cook serves at the vice president and co-founder of Project Spark Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's Disease in our lifetime. Cook earned a bachelor's degree from Emory University in Atlanta.
Jon Woods brings a diverse marketing and social media background to the GFM team. As a five-year marketing leader with Staples (formerly Corporate Express prior to their acquisition), he was responsible for all sales- and customer-facing messaging, collateral development and strategy for the company's commercial interiors business. Woods helped launch two successful, unique brands to serve the distinct customer segments that Staples sold to. After the integration of Staples and Corporate Express, Woods led the charge to re-launch the brand as the nation's largest furniture dealer.
In 2008, Woods founded the award-winning Ralphie Report, a thriving community dedicated to covering the University of Colorado Buffaloes. He has grown the site through original content, social media strategy and offline events. The site is now fully credentialed through both the University of Colorado and the Pac-12 Conference due to its influence and credibility among online and offline sports fans and in 2011 was honored with the title of “Best Sports Blog” by the Westword Web Awards.
Woods has consulted on numerous social media projects and serves as the director of content and community for the new media channel, Something Independent, an organization that aims to "bring the stories of Colorado's entrepreneurs to life.” Woods is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma.
