GroundFloor Media Named Top-Ranked Best Places to Work by Denver Business Journal for 7th Consecutive Year

Company earned second highest ranking among all 40 finalists

DENVER, Nov. 15, 2012 – GroundFloor Media (GFM), a Denver-based, integrated agency focusing on strategic communications, digital and social media strategy, and crisis communication and reputation management, today announced its recognition as a top-ranked company among the Denver Business Journal’s 2012 Best Places to Work. For the seventh consecutive year, the agency is a finalist in the small business category for local Denver companies with less than 50 employees. Winners are chosen based on employees’ responses to a confidential survey about the organization’s leadership, planning, benefits, culture, training and development, as well as overall employee satisfaction. GFM scored 99.63 out of a possible 100 percent, making it the second-highest ranking among all 40 finalists in four categories.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the Denver Business Journal and our team members as one of the best places to work in Denver, which is home to so many well-respected companies,” said Laura Love, founder and president of GFM. “We were founded on the core belief that a strong commitment to team, quality client service and giving back to the community would be the key to our success. In accomplishing this, we continue to build on our unique culture that supports and encourages creativity and inspires the passion and commitment of our people. This award is a testament to the values that we all hold at GroundFloor Media.”

Since it was founded in 2001, GFM has regularly enhanced its multi-faceted benefits program with a primary focus on creating a unique company culture – in and out of the office. Benefits range from an employee-run charitable program called “Get Grounded,” where staff receive paid time off to volunteer and can earn grants for their favorite charities; to an active lifestyle monthly stipend for each employee so they can pay for gym memberships, yoga classes or a new bike; to team building opportunities through Outward Bound and an annual out-of-town weekend retreat which brought the group to Las Vegas in 2012.

GFM also offers a generous vacation policy, including a week off between Christmas and New Year’s and each employee’s birthday off, as well as a four-week paid sabbatical program. Additional benefits include a commuter bus/light-rail pass and a B-cycle membership, and during a client crisis situation, the agency compensates employees for emergency childcare.

On Nov. 16, the Denver Business Journal will publish the 2012 Best Places to Work in Denver numeric rankings, and GFM, along with other companies that made the list, will be profiled in that day’s issue of the magazine.
