Web-Based Crisis Simulator Recognized with Four Awards in 12 Months

DENVER, Feb. 26, 2013 - GroundFloor Media (GFM), a Denver-based, integrated agency focusing on strategic communications, digital and social media strategy, and crisis communication and reputation management, today announced it received a Gold Award in the 2012 Bulldog Awards for Excellence in Media and Publicity for its proprietary Online War Room™ (OWR). The agency was honored for the best microsite or specialty website of the year. This award is one of four recognitions for the OWR in 2012, making it the most award-winning product/service for the agency to date.

Launched in December 2011, the OWR is an online, secure and proprietary tool that allows GFM to work closely with clients to create customized training sessions that mimic online crises and issues in real time, across multiple social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, blogs and online news outlets.

The service allows GFM to conduct simulations on-site or remotely, depending on clients’ wants and needs. When a simulation is being conducted, members of the GFM team join clients to provide instantaneous feedback and advice in response to other team members who are posting remotely using various pseudonyms/accounts. In addition, the OWR platform allows the agency to conduct training sessions either in real time (posting as quickly as comments and posts may occur on actual social networks), or to adjust the pace to fit the client’s comfort level.

Client feedback has been overwhelmingly positive since rolling out the OWR. GFM has conducted simulations with multiple clients including Qdoba Mexican Grill, Orange Leaf Yogurt, BNSF Railway, Colorado Garden Show, The Southcentral Foundation, Bellco Credit Union and SlimGenics. Through its membership in the Public Relations Global Network, GFM is working, or in discussions with partner agencies in Argentina, Sweden, Brazil and Russia to provide OWR training for their clients.
