Biography | The Real Story
A true jack-of-all-trades, Massachusetts-born, Florida-bred Rich Miller lived a childhood filled with fabulous friends and magical memories. One might think that from summers at his family’s farm in Portugal to marrying into the Dunkin Donuts dynasty, he would go on to live an entitled existence.
Not Rich. He tackled high school with a vengeance and went on to tackle other high-schoolers as the captain of the football team. But don’t let that stereotype fool you. Our pigskin puppeteer also enjoyed a passion for furniture-making, baking and collecting old noir pulp-fiction magazines from the 1920s and ‘30s. College brought no downtime for young Rich.
The eldest of four, Rich was the first on both sides of his family to go to college. But instead of running plays on the football field, he chose to run the campus film society. Always a realist, he led the group toward domestic film - cinematically significant, not just “artsy.” But those “rowdy” college days are long gone, and Rich now turns his passion toward his titles of “husband” and “father.”
He likes to reminisce about his days as a young lad in Florida, where he won a sand-sculpting competition, with his sculpture landing on the evening news. Basically, his first taste of media relations left a little grit in his gums – lucky for us because since 2002 he’s been grinding out the media hits for GFM’s tech clients.
He prefers his down time to be drenched in Italian wine, American beer or Canadian ginger ale (oh wait – that’s “Canada Dry”). So if you can find another sand-castle-building, film-loving, furniture-making, football captain baker with a Portuguese past and a Dunkin Donuts legacy who likes blue dots, we’d like to meet him. Until then, we’ll stick with Rich!
