GroundFloor Media Provides Support to Promote Colorado's [i4c] Summit, July 13
DENVER, July 12, 2012 — GroundFloor Media (GFM), a Denver-based, integrated agency focusing on strategic communications, social media, reputation and crisis management and digital strategy, today announced a partnership with Galvanize to promote Colorado's [i4c] campaign (pronounced “I foresee”) Summit, a competition for area entrepreneurs to win a $50,000 equity investment among other benefits. GFM will help Galvanize build awareness for the event and drive attendance at the inaugural celebration.
The Summit will take place July 13, 2012, at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver where a panel of well-known Denver business leaders will hear 10 Colorado companies as they pitch their business – similar to ABC's “Shark Tank” – in front of a live audience. Selected from more than 100 applications submitted during a one-month period, the participating start-up companies demonstrated an ability to improve communities through a business model solving social or environmental problems. Three companies will be selected as winners and the competition will be followed by a Made in Colorado After Party on 14th Street with DJ Vajra– all of which is open to the public.
“The entrepreneurial spirit in Colorado is incredibly exciting and as a small business, we believe it is important to celebrate that spirit – especially when it surrounds companies making an effort to improve the community in which live,” said Laura Love, founder and president of GroundFloor Media. “We are happy to support this event and look forward to rallying the community to do the same.”
Galvanize brought the [i4c] campaign to Denver in 2012 as a city-specific initiative to grow socially and environmentally impactful startups through capital, community and curriculum. Structured as a community engagement platform built on a public-private partnership, the [i4c] Campaign makes strategic investments in and rallies the Denver community behind our entrepreneurs, building a better city and community in the process. The [i4c] Campaign serves as Galvanize's impact investing platform with the goal of creating a better Denver community.
