FacebookFacebook launched a new tool this week that will make raising money for specific campaigns or fundraiser’s much easier for nonprofits through the social platform. Nonprofits will be able to launch specific campaigns on their Pages, similar to the event functionality, showing users how many people have contributed, how much money they want to raise, and suggesting possible donations. The social network is also improving its Donate button, making it available in individual posts as well as Pages. Users will be able to contribute money directly from the News Feed, with a single-page form used to process payments via PayPal, credit, or debit card.

While the tool is currently only open to a few select organizations, nonprofits can get ready for the larger rollout by making sure that their Facebook Page is verified as soon as possible.

To verify your Page:
Click Settings at the top of your Page
From General, click Page Verification
Click Verify this Page, then click Get Started
Enter a publicly listed phone number for your business, your country and language
Click Call Me Now to allow Facebook to call you with a verification code
Enter the 4-digit verification code and click Continue
