Celebrating 10 Years of Impact: The Get Grounded Foundation’s Legacy of Investing in Youth and Community
As GroundFloor Media celebrates turning 25 years old, we’re also celebrating something that’s especially close to our hearts: 10 years of the Get Grounded Foundation.
Since GroundFloor Media opened its doors in 2001, giving back has been part of our DNA. Every year, we reinvest 15% of our profits into the community through grants, pro bono services and volunteer time. It’s our way of making sure success isn’t just measured by growth, but by real impact.
In 2015, that commitment took on a more formal shape with the launch of the Get Grounded Foundation, a private 501(c)(3) created to support innovative and passionate non-profit organizations focused on the prevention of childhood food insecurity, child abuse and neglect and in support of youth mental health programs in our Colorado communities
Over the past 10 years, that support has added up to something pretty powerful:
- $629,000 awarded in micro grants to more than 80 community partners
- 5,146 hours from our team
Behind every number is a story including kids with fuller bellies, families with stronger support systems and young people with access to the mental health resources they deserve.
A 10-Year Celebration Led by Our Team
To celebrate the Foundation’s 10th anniversary in 2025, we did something a little different. Instead of a traditional grant cycle, we invited our team members to nominate nonprofits they personally care about—organizations doing meaningful work aligned with our three giving pillars.
Here are the nonprofits selected for our anniversary grants:
Childhood Food Insecurity
A Precious Child, The Action Center, Denver South Giving Grocery, The Lion Project, Struggle of Love, The Urban Farm
These organizations help make sure kids have access to nutritious food, so hunger doesn’t stand in the way of learning, growing, or just being a kid.
Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention
Colorado Family Life Center, El Sistema Colorado, Emergency Family Assistance Association, Illuminate Colorado, Safehouse Denver
From prevention to intervention to recovery, these groups provide critical support to children and families when they need it most.
Youth Mental Health (these grants were provided by the Sam Aden Kindness Fund, which is housed under the Get Grounded Foundation)
City Year Denver, Project Helping
Both organizations focus on early intervention and connection—helping young people build resilience and access resources that support mental wellbeing.
Reflecting on the Foundation’s deeply personal and collective impact, Laura Love, GroundFloor Media founder, shared, “The Get Grounded Foundation reminds us every day that real change starts with intentional investment—in people, in organizations and in the communities we call home. Reaching 10 years is a tribute to the vision and passion of our team, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished together.”
Looking Ahead
While we’re proud of what the last decade has brought, we’re just as excited about what’s ahead. In 2026, the Foundation will reopen its traditional grant cycle on June 12, inviting nonprofits across Denver and Boulder to apply for funding that supports youth-centered, community-driven solutions.
To our nonprofit partners, past and present (and to those we haven’t met yet) we invite you to explore the work of the Get Grounded Foundation, check out highlights from the past 10 years, and find ways to get involved. Nonprofits interested in applying can learn more and begin preparing for the June 2026 grant cycle through our website.
